Within the natural parc “Plan d’eau” in Yzeure (France), the project “Les Volants” by Association Schaft is intended to serve as a relaxing area putting the focus on both: nature and art.

As the name of the audio-visual sculpture refers to flying animals, dynamic bird sounds mixed with ambient music create movements from one tripod to the other. From a far, the elastic ropes mix their colours and the rope bundles remind light diffraction. When coming closer, they create moiré effects that unexpectedly flicker when walking by.
